Yamaha YDP-181 Review

Yamaha YDP-181 Review

Helpful Info on the Yamaha YDP-181 Arius Digital Piano

The Yamaha YDP-181 is the next step up from Yamaha YDP-161. The YDP-181 costs a couple hundred dollars mor than YDP-161.

Both the Yamaha YDP-181 and YDP-161 have the touch sensitivity change feature. Depending on your preference of the feel of the keys, you can switch from hard to medium or soft. This way, little beginner fingers can be playing on the soft mode while a more experienced piano player can practice in hard mode for muscle training. This will allow a person to play with more dynamics basic on their finger strength.

The Yamaha YDP-181 has the half-pedal effect in the damper pedal. There is also a little LCD display that the YDP-161 doesn't have.

Yamaha YDP-181 comes with 14 sounds, YDP-161 has 10 sounds. Yamaha YDP-181 also has 4 reverb types a chorus and brilliance effect. YDP-161 doesn't have the chorus or brilliance but it does have a reverb effect.

You also have USB connectivity with Yamaha YDP-181 where YDP-161 just has the MIDI option. The transpose option in the YDP-181 has -12 to +12 where the YDP-161 has -6 to +6.

There aren't very many differences between the two digital pianos. There's a couple more options in YDP-181 that are nice features that customers like such as USB connectivity, an LCD screen and four extra sounds. If you would like an easy way to connect to a computer than YDP-181 is recommended but if not and those 4 extra sounds aren't a necessity, the Yamaha YDP-161 will do just fine. If you have questions about this Yamaha YDP-181 review or need help finding a digital piano, contact our team at Piano Gallery Direct. We are happy to help. Call us at 1-800-600-9710.
