Difference Between Digital and Electric

What's the Difference Between Electric, Electronic and Digital Pianos?

Short Answer: Electric is a general term meaning it needs electricity to play. Electronic is the same as electric and digital piano is a nice electric piano made to replace the roll of an acoustic piano. A keyboard is a more portable electric piano.

Further Explanation: You can call a digital piano or a keyboard an electric or electronic piano. Sometimes digital pianos are called keyboards but the difference between a keyboard and a digital piano is looks and portability.

A digital piano (below) usually looks like a piece of furniture and has a matching stand and bench. It's not usually as portable as a keyboard.
