About Headphone Jacks

Headphone Jack Information on Digital Pianos

The headphone jack is where you plug your headphones in to your digital piano. Different digital pianos may have different size headphone jacks. There are only two sizes that are common for your digital piano to have. You'll either have the 1/4" size or the 1/16" size. The 1/16" size jack is the small size you most likely already have. MP3 players have this size and some cell phones. All the keyboards and digital pianos that Piano Gallery Direct has available are a piano with headphone jack options.

The 1/4" jack is larger and you may need an adapter for your headphones. The adapter is only a couple dollars at your nearest electronics shop or even Wal-Mart. The cost is around $2 more or less. The adapter look like this:

The color is usually the silver and black but can also be gold. You plug your headphones into the adapter and the adapter into the headphone jack on your digital piano.

Some digital pianos have two headphone jacks. This may be a useful feature for kids practiceing duets or two individuals wanting to listen in or jam.

To find out what the size of headphone jack or how many jacks on a digital piano you may want to buy, look at the specifications. The size and number of jacks will be listed as well as all the other features you may want to know about.
