Hammer Action Digital Piano

Hammer Action Digital Piano

Fully Weighted Full Size Hammer Action Digital Pianos

A Hammer action digital piano has keys that feel like a real piano. The difference between hammer action digital pianos and just weighted digital pianos is the sublt resistance change you feel when pushing the key down. If you slowly push the digital piano key down, you'll feel a little extra resistance about half way down. Then try pushing a key down on an acoustic piano and you'll feel that same resistance if you haven't noticed it before.

What you are feeling is the mechanics and moving parts of the piano action. The hammers are the felt tear drop mallets that strike the strings. This is why this feature is called hammer-action digital piano. You can feel those subtle mechanics of a real piano.

Most piano teachers require a digital piano with weighted keys. Digital pianos with hammer action weighted keys are much better and are becoming a standard in the digital piano market. Hammer action digital pianos are becoming more affordable. Casio Privia raised the price competitive bar with their low prices that include hammer-action and graded-action keys. Graded action feel like a grand piano. A graded action means the keys in the bass have more resistance and gradually have less resistance in the keys as you go toward the treble.

If you need help finding a hammer action digital piano, our Piano Gallery staff are willing to help. They are friendly and knowlegeable with plenty of experience in Yamaha, Roland and Casio hammer action digital pianos. Give us a call at 1-800-600-9710 extension 1 or 2.
