Multi-Track Recording

Multi-Track Recording Feature in Digital Pianos

Options and Basic Process of Recording with a Digital Piano

Each track is intended for recording a specific part of your song. For example, the first track you record is usually the melody of your song. The second track is whatever you would like to accompany the first track. You can have a drum track, strings, bass guitar, classical, acoustic or electric guitar and even your own voice. There also may be editing options available where you can fix mistakes such as quantizing or fixing individual notes.

Recording is a lot of fun with digital pianos and can is actually a career for some musicians. Digital piano workstations will allow you to create your own sounds and has hundreds of instruments, rhythms and sound effects included with options to download more.

You don't have to buy a high end digital piano to get multi-track recording options. If your digital piano has MIDI or USB connectivity, you can plug into your computer, get some recording software and record piano that way.

A very inexpensive multi-track recording digital keyboard is Yamaha's YPG-235. It has a 6 track recorder and almost 500 sounds for only $199.99. It's packed full of bells and whistles for an unbelievable price.

Recording is great because you can express yourself in music with some great features from digital pianos.
