Digital Piano Features for Kids

Digital Piano Features for Kids

If you are getting a digital piano for your kids' piano lessons, there's a few things that piano teachers require. The most important is the digital piano should have weighted keys and should be at least 76 keys. 88 Keys is a full keyboard. Weighted keys will meet the piano teachers expectations.

A metronome is a good feature for kids. Most digital pianos now have a metronome feature included but sometimes this feature isn't very user friendly. It may take using the owner's manual to figure out how to increase the tempo or slow it down.

Headphone jacks are a great feature when kids are practicing. You'll want to check and see how they are improving on their music pieces but inbetween that time you might enjoy the quiet.

A little higher end digital pianos have education games that get kids excited to play the piano. This may help in getting them to practice. Some basic games that pianos have are activities like guess the note that is played, or try to remember a sequence of notes played, note reading games and things like that.

These are a few important things to consider when getting a digital piano for the family or for your kids. Most important are the weighted keys. Make sure they are hammer-action weighted which is becoming the standard. If you have that feature and 76 or more keys, you'll make the piano teacher happy.
